Lung Transplant
A surgery that replaces one or both damaged or diseased lungs with a donor’s healthy lungs is known as a lung transplant.

PROCEDURE
- Pre-implant screening is done.
 - IV line is inserted into the vein and anesthesia is given.
 - The patient is connected to a mechanical ventilator and a catheter is inserted.
 - ECMO is also required to bypass blood circulation to the heart and lungs.
 - An incision is made on the chest to expose and remove the damaged lung.
 - Then, a new lung is inserted and vessels are connected with it.
 - After confirming the functioning of the new lung, suturing is done and the patient is shifted to ICU.
